Live the Essenza Lucano Experience An immersive and multisensory journey through colors, scents and history of Amaro Lucano. More than 125 years of history
20.000 sqm to share. Amaro Lucano was born in Pisticci in 1894, near Matera “Citta’ dei Sassi” from its creator Pasquale Vena, a pastry chef with a passion of herbal medicine. More than 30 aromatic herbs experience, tell you the 130 years of history. History made with traditions, art, culture, and costumes. The Amaro and Lucanian history. In the common area of Essenza Lucano, the story of relives can be touched and savored. It continues, with the aromatic garden of the court with 30’s herbs let you touch, look, and breathe. Through a technological and interactive exhibition space, among the famous advertising campaigns and the story of the characters who made the history. From the tradition of ancient walnut presses to new cultural and sensorial experiments.
THE EXPERIENCE
VISITING THE MUSEUM An experiential journey using 5 different themes: Lucania, Lucano, Amaro, History and Pacchiana traditional costume. Dedicated to exploring the winning secret ingredients of a liqueur that is the result of deep rooted, tradition, commitment and the creativity of a man and a family enamored with their homeland. The itinerary includes a visit to the medical herbal garden with the same herbs included in the Amaro recipe. It continues, with a visit to the exhibition space called “The Factory” which traces the company’s history, explains the essences and the herbs used in the Amaro Lucano recipe.

Free Italian and English language guided tour from Monday to Sunday:
first tour at 3.30 pm and second tour at 5.30 pm during winter period
first tour at 4.30 pm and second tour at 6.30 pm during summer period
On request, the guided tours can be reserved in the morning at 11.00 am in Italian and/or English language. Visit duration H 1:15 minutes
On request, is possible to visit “The Essenza project” painted by the local street artist Antonio Poe. The visit duration will be H 1:30 minutes.
