Visit to the Historic Wineries of Vulture
Barile – PATERNOSTER 1925
From Lavello, we will move to Barile, an Arbëreshë village at the foot of Mount Vulture. We will visit the urban park of the Wineries. This setting was chosen in 1964 by the renowned director Pier Paolo Pasolini for the filming of “The Gospel According to Matthew.” From there, we will head to the Paternoster winery, the oldest in Vulture, for a tour of a unique territory, including a visit to the Baron’s historic cellar and the current production and aging cellar for wines. This will be followed by a tasting of selected wines.
Rionero – Cantine del Notaio
In Rionero in Vulture, we will visit one of the oldest wineries, the Cantine del Notaio. The passion for viticulture has been passed down for 7 generations in the Giuratrabocchetti family. We will visit the ancient Franciscan caves of volcanic tuff that radiate around the “Facìle,” and we will share stories and traditions of the local territory and viticulture. Additionally, we will taste wines paired with local excellences.
Rionero – Terre dei Re
The Cantine Terra dei Re are located at the foot of the Volcano, surrounded by vineyards of Aglianico and Pinot Nero grapes that offer unique suggestions and emotions. The tour in the Wineries allows you to experience a unique journey between past and present, discovering the history and traditions that have been passing down the art of winemaking in Basilicata for centuries.
